We seemed to have had a lil visitor today, folks. Not odd news really as we have a great many visitors each and every day. Loyal visitors who read and chime in from time to time in response to a piece we had written. There have been a plentitude (know that word Jason?) of responses with tones ranging from surprise to humor to challenging to praise. Yes, Jason… accolades. Not just in posts but emails from around the country. And we’re proud of that.
Folks have tried to identify our persons as well as out political affiliations and leanings. We’ve largely been called to be in Carney’s back yard and over to the King’s for brunch. And in all this time the line of respect and good nature has never been breached by a reader; never personal. Until now. Now it’s personal.
We now call your attention to a reader who popularly goes by Jason330. This transparent, trite, and bromidic (760 SAT, dude… look it up) little worm thought he would flex his extensive academic muscle and genius and come on DE2010 and lay a lil profane and sophomoric tirade on our (my) ass. Now I/we certainly expect not to charm everyone. In fact, by our nature we take all to task and wait for the counterpunch. But the deluxer here is that this bantam, juvenile, self serving, and irascible peon is the founder of Delaware Liberal and talking head for Progressive Democrats for Delaware. Oh, the glass house. Perhaps if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading this literary and academic giant’s post we invite you take a gander. Note: our commentary is in bold ; )

Dear Celia Cohen in drag (that’s Cohen dressed as woman [that’s cause she is a woman, dickface, hence Celia???] for people playing at home), [playing from home… how original… as if the term required an explaination… lol]
I stand by my comment on another thread. [Like anyone gives a shit]
Holy shit, [Batman…] This blog sucks. Bloated inane writing in the style of Celia Cohen [night and day, hoss]. Does Delaware really need another Celia Cohen? [More importantly, does it need another Jason?]. Does it even need [asked the same question twice… but who’s counting] one?
No and no. Just write the fucking [ouch… soooo very biting and original] blog post already. You are not as funny or clever as you think you are [I’m not? Huh..] Also, it is pretty obvious who you are [it is? WTF] so stop trying to pretend [sorry little man… cant do that.] that you are not a Republican. [And you stop trying to pretend you’re intelligent].
Now I don’t have a problem being compared to a woman… but please make me hotter than Celia (sorry Celia). And Jason is so very tough (I remember when I had my first beer) as he stands on his diminutive box and by his stunningly inane comments. Bravo, little man. “Holy Shit?” WTF “This blog sucks” …sounds like a lil jealousy if you ask us. Really, Jason of Delaware Liberal… is that all you got dude? This the best you can come up with? You must be one really savvy and polished writer… being such a critic and all. I’ll bet you’re published… right? Thought so. Now who’s bloated (wow 380 SAT). What are you gonna come at me with next?… ”My mother wears army boots?” You seem to want a war of words yet you enter the battle woefully unarmed.
Now I love words. Schooled for many years in their usage, benefits, power, and influence. And now I suck… am shitty… and need to write a “fucking blog.” Silly me, I was caught unaware that Jason and Delaware Liberal wrote the book on blogging, political journalism, and satire all at the same time. Damn, if we had known that we could have saved ourselves so much time, eh? But, hell, Jason knows the word “inane”. Wow… impressive kid… 420 SAT word. I would’ve been more impressed had you called me innocuous, daft, or pointless… lol. But inane applies to you on this day our sad lil man. You write your Delaware Liberal blog with that impressive wit, humor (oh, wait… humor and Del Lib?… nyet) and mouth?
And to top it off, J-boy has a crystal ball, folks. Yaaassssiiirr… step right up, pay your quarter and listen to Madam Einstein predict that we are most certainly republicans… oooohhh the angry partisans… lol. No one knows, dude; especially you. You should take your next weeks salary and go buy a f’in clue. Also, I think the King and the pretenders may; I say, may… have a dif take on your suspicion.
Folks, I/we have enjoyed the banter and the heat. This was not heat. It was comedy. It was stupid. It was vulgar. It was inane. You wanna fight, bro? you got one. Bring it on and show us all what ya got. Ya got the balls, bro?
But do read him on Delaware Liberal, folks. I’m sure his shit is fucking dynamite.
Quite frankly, I think he need’s to get laid.
A final note: I am as funny and clever as I think I am, bro. You wanna come at me/us then have at it. But bring somethin’ a lil more adroit than “Holy Shit”…
That was so inane. And you owe Celia an apology …lol.

The D’s at my firm quit reading Delaware Liberal eons ago. One called it trite and inane.
Damn, I agree with a Democrat?
March 5th, 2010 at 9:30 am
Hey Jason, Your a joke. Why don’t you go back to your corner of cyberspace, lame as it may be. This is where the cool kids hang out!
PS Our blogger can whip your bloggers ass anyday of the week!
March 5th, 2010 at 2:06 pm
Delaware Liberal is untouchable, they have been and will always be the #1 blog in DE, for both parties.
March 5th, 2010 at 2:24 pm
Weak.
March 5th, 2010 at 4:09 pm
Jason is a douche, he thinks he’s a real reporter.
March 5th, 2010 at 4:14 pm
Weak? I think you just got bitch slapped J man.
March 5th, 2010 at 4:59 pm
If you say so. I was going to express that same sentiment in some ponderous, plodding and unfunny jumble of sentences, but I was pretty sure admin would not grock the irony.
March 5th, 2010 at 6:11 pm
Hey Anon,
How can they be number one for both parties? How is that even possible much less believable. Surely you must be Jason’s cousin or on his payroll, LOL
The reason I read DE2010 faithfully is because it is the ONLY blog that does call out both sides.
Not to mention….they don’t run from a fight, Jason. Don’t start it if you can’t finish it!!
March 5th, 2010 at 6:21 pm

Wow, Anon, and I was being nice to you. It seems to me everyone who reads Deleware Liberal goes for the low blow.
BTW, if you only knew my idenity, you might be more than a little surprised.
Everyone, have a great weekend.

You should have an arm wrestling match, you can do a live webcast, invite the republican bloggers to be the cheerleaders and maybe dana garrett to be the referee

Bloggers are nothing more than the angry mob who love to simply bitch. Being a follower of the Delaware political scene, I tend to make the rounds through about a dozen sites, DL and DE2010 being in the list. I don’t often participate in the commentary but I felt I’d throw my hat into the ring here. Simply put, DL is a good site that has great contextual content but is poorly written and full of angry contributors and commentators with a huge bias for everything left – and the more left the better. They have the stigma of the angry bloggers in their basement trying to force their viewpoints down everyones throat without entertaining arguments and when they do get challenged, they gang up and bully. DE2010, although the new kid on the block, has a tighter focus on election subject but doesn’t have appeal to the common folk because of the level of writing. It doesnt take any political stance that I’ve seen, although I’d imagine they are more libertarian with former allegiances to the repubs (probably ex-party leadership, strine’s allies?); here they simply bash incumbents and those wingnuts who don’t understand the realism of running for office, nothing really positive but maybe thats because nothing positive with any particular candidate exists within the state. You both bring something good and bad to the table and at the end of the day you shouldn’t quit your day jobs but keep writing for our daily dose.
March 6th, 2010 at 9:23 am
Strine has no allies except in the mobile home park business where he consistently tries to stick it to the people living there.
March 6th, 2010 at 11:13 am
“When they do get challenged, they gang up and bully” Interesting observation skadden.
You know, I have always considered myself a liberal…about the worst thing you could call me is a republican..fighting words, because I always viewed rebublicans as being very intolerant, narrow-minded and holier-than-thou and to now discover these very same traits exist to such a level within the group that I identify my own political leanings with astounds and saddens me.
March 6th, 2010 at 12:23 pm
At least we can all agree that the faux humorous writing on this blog sucks elephant dick.
March 6th, 2010 at 12:32 pm
An act you are intimately familiar with I’m certain.
Surprised you could spell faux, bro
March 6th, 2010 at 3:25 pm
Skadden,
That’s the great thing about the blogosphere in general, and bloggers more specifically – it is a democratic institution. Anyone can posit their requisite points of view.
I too, read 6 – 10 political-contented blogs each day. I stumbled upon DL awhile back. IMO, you acurately describe DL. Content is what brings me back to the same sites each day. And DL lacks that prerequisite. As Obama once said, and Sarah Palin used to her credit – “[Y]ou can put lipstick on a pig, but…it’s still a pig.”
If one reads commentators and Op-Eders such as Krauthammer, Brooks, Will and Dowd, one sees a strong argument, not maniacal rants, stewn with expetives and personal character assasinations. Nor do you see them proselytizing their points of view. They compare and contrast, use data, historical context and sprinkle it all with a refreshing dose of anecdotal evidence – read: personal experience!
Too many wannabe politicos are merely entertainers (Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity – Olbermann, Maddow, Schultz) who are looking to bend their audiences toward their political POVs. Their tactics are replete with reductive fallacies and straw-man arguments. They hook you for a moment, then you realize – WTF!
Content and a good narrative is what matters; however, the trouble is, scandal, hyperbole and character attacks bring ratings and ratings bring advertisers and advertisers bring the networks lots of money, hence, Beck, for example, makes around $23 million per year.
So, well said Skadden. You should post more often. Bur pleeez!…;) whatever you do, DON’T use phrases like “at the end of the day.” (the word ‘ultimately’ will suffice nicely). See article about the wanton abuse of popular sayings below:
