The chapeau with the names of potential Senatorial Candidates just got a little lighter as John Carney reached in (to the Dems chagrin) and removed his moniker from discussion for the post. That he chose to sit pat on his Congressional front runner seat is not earth shaking news, given the K2 climb that awaits the soul who emerges as a combatant and the fact that the House race is Carney’s to lose. But there were a legion of hopeful supporters and party faithful waiting at the oasis for a sip of excitement.
That’s not to say that John’s announcement is not without merit or cheer. The House race is big and big for Carney. A Washington gig puts him and his agenda on a much larger stage, and would solidify the House seat for a long time. The Dems cant afford to lose it so the degree of importance is paramount.
Now it’s just a matter of what brave soldier might the GOP conjure up to run against him?
We have a pretty good idea. We have Madam LaRue and our squad of lil birdies… remember?

Is Kevin Wade the GOP soldier you’re referring to?
January 27th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
http://wadefordelaware.com/ is Kevin Wade’s site, he looks constipated
January 27th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
Wade’s curriculum vitae is a joke, his largest accomplishment is salt water fishing! Carney’s got it signed, sealed and delivered. Quote me on that one.

What does this guy do for a living? He has on his bio – community service, republican activities, volunteer energy thing and hobbies. Is he a another “community organizer?”
January 27th, 2010 at 7:14 pm
He is President of this company http://www.pcs4automation.com/
Looks like lo-tech Google maps, we’ll see if he has GAME, that’s all it takes to challenge anybody in an open seat.
January 28th, 2010 at 2:56 am
Carney will be so sad to leave Delaware to go to work everyday in DC, the guy bleeds colonial blue and buff!
January 28th, 2010 at 9:40 pm
rose izzo! haha
January 29th, 2010 at 12:01 am
I heard Rose Izzo has a lot of supporter with a lot of money and she is a real fiscal conservative. News is Sarah Palin is coming to campaign for her. I will vote for her.
January 29th, 2010 at 1:44 am
Hey cool site! You should read the posts about repubs guys. Put them all together and they may have a canidate! Unless that Fred guy eats them!
January 29th, 2010 at 2:49 am
Rose Izzo, are you kidding me!!? I’ve never seen more of an unqualified candidate, I can’t believe I even wasted 3 minutes googling her
January 29th, 2010 at 2:55 am
Who are the creators of DE2010.com?
January 29th, 2010 at 3:00 am
I don’t think there will be no surprise if Beau Biden’s handling of the Earl Bradley case caused him to forgo the Senate run; Boston Mass Acre, notwithstanding.
January 29th, 2010 at 3:09 am
Polemical, I was just thinking the same thing. I think there’s multiple people behind the site, the writing is unlike anything I have seen on a DE blog, you can tell well educated but very opinionated, still cant tell if its upstate or downstate folks. I’m sure someone will leak their name(s) soon enough.
January 29th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
My family and i have been eating at the Chrcoal pit since it opened. best place in town. The server told us today that John Carney is filming a commercial there soon.
Another Claymont kid making good.
The hell with Obama whose a dissapoointment stick with the local kids from around here.
January 29th, 2010 at 6:28 pm
has to be upstate, has to be, come on dude(s) throw us a bone?
January 31st, 2010 at 2:43 am
We are highly curious, Kitkat, Why the steadfast insistence that this is an upstate op? C’mon, bro…throw us a bone too. Gotta hear the logic on that one.
We do favour the Tai chicken soup at Buckley’s; but the Spider roll at the Cultured Pearl (Rehoboth, if ya need to look it up) with a cucumber martini is to die for.
Could be Above the Canal…but then again could be way south. Fenwick, maybe. Then again…maybe not. Dewey’s got the Jam, but we like hangin w Kate in Newark.
East end too. Milton is a budding jewel. Living there would be charming. Maybe we catch every home Del State home game…maybe the hens. Georgetown could be our town. Claymont is cool. Some things on the rise there. But then we just might be hangin w the 6 paupers.
Tough to say…so we won’t. But we are def intrigued as to why we in your book are an upstate lock.
Hope this clears it up…oh, and thanks for stoppin’ by and don’t be a stranger.

Mr (or Ms) admin,
Just a hunch is all… Slower lower is slower and I’ve seen some pretty fast gossip here before the others on the daily bookmarks list, delmarva daily, etc. The writing is also edumacated, not to say us country bumpkins down here don’t have degrees hanging on our walls, they just happen to say agribusiness, farm engineering and pumkin chunkin, with the occasional sheep #*/!+@ but we don’t talk about cousin Jethro like that. I’d wager that there are 2-3 of you perched in your offices in wilmington but you vacation in bethany, old friends, business people, maybe lawyers or banking types, scotch drinkers but also a fan of the local breweries, you have slightly different moderate leaning views but combine your opinions in moderate balance but punch packing posts, you have a lot of political friends, both elected officials and party leaders from both sides that love to feed you gossip because you donate to their campaigns and whatever firm that designed this fancy site for you. All good things and you can bet I’ll be frequenting the joint often and that fancy hi tech comment notification system is pretty swell, but I too have birdies and they lay eggs… And remember where those eggs come from when you’re having your fancy brunch in that there hotel doopont.

Carney’s brother tells me a letter is going out to every CYO particpant in the past 25 years asking for support. That’s tens of thousands of people. John ran CYO for a long time and those memories of basketball at St. Anthony’s run deep.
January 31st, 2010 at 1:49 pm
Carney had a fundraiser last Sat at the Cheer center in Susssex.

Hey KitKat… keep this up and we’re gonna hire ya. A pretty good scribe and a sense of humor.
Some interesting generalities that could apply to 90% of Wilmington. Although you were right bout the scotch – do like a lil Walker Blue as a treat but prefer Jack and PBR’s.
FYI, I know many in Kent and Sussex with fancy sheepskins on their wall. Yes, the pace is less frenetic and there is a lot more farmland (regrettably not for long)- and No one in Wilmington would know what to do with a Pumpkin…let alone a pumpkin chunker…lol – but it’s just a dif way of life. Compare Wilmo to NYC…and Wilmo looks like Bridgeville…Scrapple and all.
While we are going to leave the residence to conjecture I will say that my favourite place and time was living in Fenwick while spending much time w friends in Selbyville. Love that town. The trek on 54 from Fenwick to Selbyville was alllllllll farmland the second you got past Harpoon Hannah’s. Boy, has that changed. Sad, really.
We appreciate the compliments on the writing and the site.
And I can tell you unequivocally that we are in NO ONES pocket. We get our feeds because we are good, tough and fair in our analysis. We like to think of it like Simon Cowell; he’s an sob but his opinion is educated, relevant and very accurate. We have some friends, yes…who doesn’t? But we are not adverse to raising folks blood pressure when we feel its called for…no matter who they are! Thought that was clear by now.
When you read the about us, it pretty much sums us up.
Oh, and I can honestly tell you I’ve never had the pleasure of the Hotel duPont’s Sunday brunch. I hear its nice but I much prefer a Friendly’s, an Ihop or the bloody Mary’s on Sunday’s at the Arena’s on Coastal Hhwy.
The savings pay for the scotch…
Keep chimin’ in.

I’m impressed with the responses – both the admin and visitors. I think this is a big change from what were used to: a few wackos with diarrhea of the mouth who had the forum for years – they had people coming back to their sites to argue; here you have conversation that sometimes makes sense but when is opposite your opinion, there’s a justification, not a deep throat ram job of the tirade of pissed off people too lazy to do something about it.
January 31st, 2010 at 8:29 pm
If you find out who and where this writer is…please clue me in. Kinda like a bad boy Anderson Cooper and yeah a little cantakerous Simon Cowell thrown in the mix. Always did love those bad boys, especially those who really have something intellegent to say….might have to start staking out Arena’s on Coastal hwy on Sundays….buy a girl a bloody mary?? I think I am officially your first stalker….but shhhh…I think there is a law against that, LOL
February 1st, 2010 at 1:43 pm
Oh my, Peaches. And all this time I’ve used my third eye to watch for irate dems, reps, and tea bags. Now when entering Arena’s I’ll need to watch for Glenn Close lurking in the shadows as well..lol
Me, cantankerous? I’m just a teddy bear if ya wanna know the truth.
And yes, the bloody Mary’s are on us. I hear they go good with boiled rabbit!
Don’t worry, though; your secret is safe with us ; )

Excellent post! I might really listen to what you are saying. Overall most of your blog is tremendous… I am digging it. I have a Political Blog site of my own at White Rabbit Cult… I will place a link back to your blog. Much Thanks!
