Like most Delawareans today we are hunkered down with a beverage wonderin’ when the F@$^&*^ snow is gonna end. It surely is pretty – majestic almost – but so remarkably inconvenient and by and large a pain in the ass. But it has afforded us all (at least us at DE2010) extra time to ponder. Reflect, if you will on the dynamics, personalities and issues that are currently and quietly – or not so quietly – shaping the landscape and shaking the foundation of Delaware politics as they apply to this mid-term extravaganza. You know, the stuff we write about.
And just as some of the flakes are finding their place on the clogged streets of Rehoboth and Wilmington, others are simply of capricious mind and ride to the whim of the wind not knowing where they’ll come down… or when. There also is so much conjecture as to how much we’re gonna get and when it end and will we be hit up yet again before we open up a single heart shaped Valentine’s card. Mother Nature can be so erratic – most whimsical – where one never quite knows where she stands or what she has in mind. Sounds like some of our prospective candidates, don’t it?
And somewhere totin’ a shovel and shrouded intentions is one Tony Wedo. Yeah, you’ve heard the name as its been batted about the blogs like a shuttlecock; is he gonna, is he not gonna, is he the new best thing… blah blah blah. If anything, he is an enigma; a rumored heavyweight with the political acuity, business resume, charm, look, and wallet to become not only the needed new blood the creaky and stodgy GOP – by most accounts – need, but to energize a primary race which at the moment resembles at best a pot luck supper.
We know the party leaders he has met with and the amount of ancillary as well as direct pressure that has been applied by the party supporters and an impressive number of constituents. So we have waited… and waited… and waited as his perch up top the fence – now obscured by the drifting snow – begins to strain from the weight of ambiguity. He is very serious (or so he says) and we believe he is. It would be nice to wake up amidst the sound of the shovels and plows (well, out side certain cites…lol) to the news that Tony Wedo is in. Now that kind of bulletin may not make for a tasty cup of mornin’ Joe for the rest of the field, but it will give the coffee, party, and race, a needed shot of Jameson’s. And couldn’t we all use that right about now.
Final note: And now in the on deck circle… Fred Cullis
See ya tomorrow, Fred

This is a new name, what’s his CV like?

Charm, looks, and wallet – these are the same qualifications as Obama! Look where that has gotten us. He has no politicatl experience and should be included in your pretenders list.

I don’t know that the voting populous would like to see a career politician in these times — especially for this seat as it is truly a “Representative” of the people. Now my neighbors aren’t politicians, not even close, they’re people that work for corporations and are walking on a tightrope with their jobs.
I don’t know that I trust the Carney type to “create” jobs as his only real experience as a lifetime politician is writing checks and taking money from other politicians. Already seen Nancy Pelosi is on his FEC filing.
Jobs will be the name of the game, any other social issues nobody gives a damn about anymore, if they had their financial security back and their mortgages under control they could afford to think about those things. Rant complete.

Mel Gibson looks, can self fund and is smart. He’s the real deal.
Best of all he can play in Brookside.
The GOP are morons if they ignore this guy.

The guy is a bonafide farm-raised STUD

Lots of posts on his looks and charm, so what. I don’t vote based on looks.
There is no info posted on his positions, or as cmdrwatkins noted in the first post, what is his CV like? Give us some details on this perspective candidate.
I agree with Pentax1717, I’m not happy with many career politicians, in both parties. But I do want to vote for someone who is intelligent and who conveys integrity and trust.
So far, I have not found anything on this or any other sites that decribes this candidate in any detail whatsoever.
Geez, why not just put Mel Gibson up as a candidate if looks and self-funding are your biggest qualifications.
I’m more interested in someone who knows the issues and will represent the good people of Delaware with trust and integrity.

Cause Mel wasn’t born in the 40 acres and didn’t play CYO ball…

His CV is darned impressive. Penn, Cornell and Queen’s College. 2 MBA’s.
Co-founder of Boston Market and created the Einstein Bagle Chain.
Low taxes, job creation, pro-life but doesn’t want the government in your bedroom and best of all he worked for it. Earned it. People admire people who made the money and slugged in the hours. Wedo can win in Ogletown.
If he can win there he can win anywhere.

From Wikipedia: “Astroturfing is an English-language term referring to political, advertising, or public relations campaigns that are formally planned by an organization, but designed to mask its origins to create the impression of being spontaneous, popular “grassroots” behavior. The term refers to AstroTurf, a brand of synthetic carpeting designed to look like natural grass.”

Wow, you know wikipedia.
Now we, being fairly intelligent are aware of the practice. I’m certain every camp would like to fill the waves with popular banter benefiting their candidate . But unlike you, we look at the organic nature and viral dynamics that drive the opinions you see hear on the site and are proud of the results. We have our own analytics and methods as to keep it real. And make no mistake: we are real and your wiki folly is just that…folly.

I’m sure if this dude announces there will be a smorgasbord of stuff to read about him, but I agree there is nothing out there to get a barometer reading, that only happens if you’ve done something in the past few years, oh thank god google wasnt around in the early 80s and 90s!!!
