My how the winds of political tomfoolery can pick up the scent of a trash heap so early in a race. The birdies are working overtime today as it appears there exists some basement mud being locked, loaded and fired directly at one prominent GOP Congressional hopeful, Tony Wedo.
We have been preparing our troops for what we feel to be an impending announcement by Wedo and saw the bat signal cloaked as it was in Judson Bennett’s latest newsletter this morning, so we thought we’d check it out.
We are extremely au courant as to the dog eat dog dynamic of any political campaign. So much today is fair game and the rat#$@%^*& will take any shot that will influence pub opinion… on either side. It is a regrettable bi product of the current state of all political affairs. The matter here is a circulating email announcing the originator to be Tony Wedo… but it evidently wasn’t. Lets just say the text is loaded with incendiary business historical information that would be attributed to the as yet to be announced candidate and interpreted hopefully as gospel.
Now there could be some smoke here and we, like anyone else in our profession, certainly look for that, but it is not so much the body of work here that we question… it’s the method by which it was delivered …in a brown bag lit afire at the door… We were alerted by a Wedo insider and told this was was a bold attempt by a certain announced candidate’s underling (rumored to be working out of ma’s basement) to link Wedo in with the likes of George Soros and to call into suspicion the integrity of not only Wedo, but his business dealings, and his burgeoning campaign (if there is one). The camp is probably fuming at this one.
Now we are not going to comment on the validity of any of the information encapsulated in the (alleged) bogus memo. We will only say that if what Wedo’s camp says is true then it looks like a hit below the political belt. And we are going to find out.
We’ve read the memo, rummaged for information beyond connecting dots and conjecture, and will stay on top of the story.
A note to the originator of the “I’m Tony Wedo” mock site and his boss: Glass houses, bro. You’re ridin’ the karma train… do hope you have a ticket… good luck if ya don’t.

You have to admit he’s got one hell of a name, I will consult my friend google
January 28th, 2010 at 5:30 pm
I saw the email this AM and immediately wrote it off as the same rhetoric that comes from the flying saucer/big foot people in sussexxx county, haven’t met TOny but I hear he’s been meeting with a lot of delegates with positive reviews
January 28th, 2010 at 5:36 pm
George Soros, haha, you people!
January 28th, 2010 at 6:03 pm
Dude, this guy started Boston Market and Manhattan Bagel? RUN RUN RUN! Who else do we have? Kevin Wade or Fred Cunnilingus! I’m sure if Ross and DC is supportive of him, there is no Soros conspiracy like skinny said

Congressional Quarterly seems to think Wedo is all but announced:

hmmmm……………
I was warned against meeting this guy but apparently he’s a pretty cool guy.
He’s a job creation guy from what my wife tells me and God knows we need more of them.
Oh, my son use to work at Chrysler. Use to.
January 28th, 2010 at 7:03 pm
The guy lives in PA!! Albeit a stone’s throw from the DE/PA border, he cant even run!
January 28th, 2010 at 7:06 pm
According to NCCo property records, in May of 2008 he bought 415 Old Kennett Road, Wilmington DE 19807, which appears to be Judge Arhst’s old estate. Also shows here that he has a bunch of active work permits for the property: demolition, HVAC, foundation work, residential addition, exterior framing, electric, and the list goes on.
I don’t think anyone could live through all that with their family but on the same token, I think his intention is clearly to be living here for the long haul.

You repubs crack me up! You eat your own every time you a get a chance! That’s is why you losers will never win. Hey I think one of these guys beats their wife! Oh let’s see who do I pick? The guy that looks like an enlarged Dr. Evil, the old crazy guy with the bad hair or this new guy, whom I haven’t seen (Wedo) but is probably another seventy year old loon! Carney 2010! Live it, learn it, love it!
Keep throwing that mud! As close to November as you can!
January 29th, 2010 at 3:19 am
cant tell if this is a dem or repub site
January 29th, 2010 at 7:13 am
My wife checked and he is eligible to run. DE law says nothing about federal office. The Constitution says you have to be 30 and a citizen to run for Congress.
She also says Hillary and JFK and Ted Kennedy all did the same thing so it is legal.
Besides who the hell cares where he lives, I had to cover my sons mortgage again last month so I could care less where he lives as long as he can cretae jobs.
Minner and Carney created nothing but state jobs and i voted for them once but learned my lesson.

Mr. Wedo has officially been a Delaware resident since 2008. His business network is in Delaware, his car is registered in Delaware, he pays Delaware taxes, he is registered to vote in Delaware, his friends are in Delaware, his children go to school in Delaware, he has a home in Delaware, I’m sure he can represent the people of Delaware just fine regardless of what his temporary housing situation is while his home is being renovated for safety concerns.
I now know all of the above because I too was once a skeptic, I know the comfortable feeling that us NATIVE Delawareans have to have with a candidate, like a first name basis. I haven’t met him yet but I’m sure if he decides to run he will cross all your paths at least a few times.

I shoot at Ommelanden and a buddy tells me that this campaign is having a clay pigeon shoot to raise money. i hope this means he’s a gun rights guy.
January 29th, 2010 at 10:54 am
Repubs will shoot anything to get a vote! Is he inviting Cheney? if so I hope Castles goes! lol
January 29th, 2010 at 10:54 am
I love that you aren’t afraid to tell it like it is on both sides on the fence. Bout time there was a site that is not slanted one way only. This site is brilliant and funny as hell!
January 29th, 2010 at 5:12 pm
My wife called 411
January 29th, 2010 at 5:15 pm
He does shoot clay pigeons. I’m told an event will be held on some farm in Magnolia come August. Damn! we have a real live 2nd amendament candidate for Congress.
In Brookside we all have guns to keep the thugs out and because we’re allowed to.
January 29th, 2010 at 5:32 pm
A colleague told me about this yesterday.
A site that appears balanced and witty as well. Perhaps a first?
As a long time GOP donor who has given to Ferris, Charlie, Mike, and even Stell Parker; I feel a new guy should be embraced.
The fact remains the De Gop has become a dying breed. A few houses in Greenville not yet turned into 501c3’s, is all that’s left of the duPont dynasty. New blood is needed and from I hear Mr. Wedo provides exactly that.
Finally, we have a new guy who apparently milked cows on his dad’s farm and somehow went to Penn.
January 29th, 2010 at 6:17 pm
I met Tony last month, fmr Navy officer, that alone beats anything I see from the union pandering opponent. BTW I’m a registered democrat, fed up with this state.
January 29th, 2010 at 6:35 pm
Finally, a CEO instead of a career politician! How old is this guy?
January 30th, 2010 at 1:08 am
I met Tony as well. He is about 48-52 not sure. We met him at the Deer Park one afternoon. Ther were about ten of us there to meet him and i think eleven came out supporting him!
I hope he gets the nomination. Delaware could use a breath of fresh air.
I am sick of guys named “x” winning just because my mom knows his Aunt!
January 30th, 2010 at 1:18 am
Yeah CEO’s are what got us into this mess! All you Repubs want to do is put guys in Goverment with silver spoons in their mouths!
John Carney came from nothing. He knows what hard work means!
January 30th, 2010 at 1:34 am
Hey Obamyeah,
Carney has worked in the government almost his whole life!
Wedo grew up on a farm! From listening to his story, i don’t think his family had silver spoons.
Why don’t you dems stop drinking the cool-ade and listen for once!
How many jobs has Carney created in the private sector?
you might want to change your name!

A real estate lawyer of mine in Sussex had lunch with Tony last week at the Brick House. He prides himself on only ever having given 35.00 to any candidate.
He told Tony he’d max to him. My bud is so cheap he packs his own lunch most days and re-uses the paper bag.
This Wedo guy has to be something else. We meet on Tuesday. Maybe the GOP is finally serious about a new name coming on board.
